In our previous Be Ready blog post, we told you about a recent Case IH survey of 800 producers in North America that highlighted the different considerations livestock and crop producers have when it comes to making equipment purchases for their operations. The graphic above shows what topped the list for each. Are you a livestock or crop producer? Do you agree with the ranking? What tops your list when considering purchasing new equipment?
Livestock producers rank low maintenance and easy-to-service equipment from an innovative manufacturer as their top three. Those who reported a significant portion of their income as generated from crop operations also rank innovation near the top of their list, but reliability and resale value rate even higher.
Research results show that dealer experience is important, considering that both the crop and livestock producers ranked dealer responsiveness as No. 5 on their list of considerations.
“Having access to a supportive, responsive dealership is critical for all producers,” says Ryan Drollette, Farm Management Specialist from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. “An operation’s success is dependent on its ability to stay up and running, and equipment plays a crucial role in that.”
Case IH understands that people are important, as it continues to put producers first and keep two-thirds of its employees out in the field working alongside producers every day.
Since I’m a crop producer I agree with the rankings shown.
