“Red Power” Generates More Than $75,000 for FFA

Red Power check presentation (623x413)

Did you have a chance to see “Red Power,” the one-of-a-kind, tricked-out Case IH skid steer? It appeared at a number of farm shows this year. Now it has a new home in Ohio, but not before its sale generated $77,000 for FFA!

The winning bidder was Doug Loudenslager, General Manager of JR Equipment, Inc., with locations in Delaware, Ohio and Upper Sandusky, Ohio. He bought the skid steer on behalf of Evolution Ag, which brings together JR Equipment, Inc.; Hill Implement Co. in Circleville, Ohio; and Agri-Trac in Utica, Ohio. Loudenslager is excited to bring “Red Power” to Ohio. As a former FFA member and national officer, he knows the tremendous value of the organization. He also served as chief operating officer of the National FFA Foundation from 2004 to 2009.

Case IH was proud to donate the proceeds from “Red Power” to FFA. Of the sale total, 89 percent went to the National FFA Foundation, 10 percent went to the Ohio FFA Foundation and 1 percent was awarded to Buckeye Valley FFA, the local chapter selected by Evolution Ag. Purple Wave, the full-service equipment auction firm that conducted the auction from Aug. 28 through Sept. 30, donated its 10 percent buyer’s fee to support FFA as well.

Kyle Russell, Senior Director of Marketing Case IH North America, talks about the long and important relationship between FFA and Case IH.

Rob Cooper, National FFA Foundation Executive Director, was thrilled with the donation. “We truly appreciate this significant contribution from Case IH and Purple Wave to support FFA programs and activities,” he says. “Proceeds from the sale of the Case IH ‘Red Power’ skid steer will help our members on the local, state and national levels.”

Case IH has a long history of support for FFA and youth programs, and we are proud to contribute to a program that has done so much to help students Be Ready for future careers in agriculture.
