Check out Case IH’s latest “From the Field” video post on The Weather Channel titled, “How can farmers maximize every acre?”. This video post highlights how Precision Farming technologies, such as autoguidance systems and software, increase planting, seeding, and spraying efficiency.
How have precision farming technologies been helpful to you?
If you’ve been following the Case IH BE READY blog, you’ve seen that we occasionally share thought-provoking blogs or news articles related to the opportunities and challenges facing agriculture today and in the future.
Ethanol continues to be a major topic of discussion both inside and outside agriculture circles, as evidenced by this article on Wired.com. In “Five Ethanol Myths, Busted”, author Forrest Jehlik, a mechanical engineer in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Argonne National Laboratory Transportation Technology Research & Development Center, discusses five prevailing myths related to ethanol production, its effect on the world’s food supply and the environment and gas mileage.
Regardless of your position on ethanol production in the U.S., the purpose of this blog share is to make you aware of the latest issues and discussions taking place.
It’s a valid question asked by many producers on a regular basis, and one that Case IH can answer.
Diesel engines have evolved into more powerful and fuel-efficient engines since their invention more than a century ago. While this evolution is good for productivity in the fields, it’s bad for emissions.
Check out Case IH’s latest “From the Field” video post on The Weather Channel titled, “How can our farmers meet emissions standards?”. This video post discusses how Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology not only helps Case IH high-horsepower tractors meet Tier 4 emissions regulations, but also how it creates cleaner oil, less maintenance, and the power producers need to get the job done.
To learn more about SCR technology, check out Case IH’s blog post, “School of Hard NOx: SCR Primer.”
Case IH helped bring the story of production agriculture to more than 2.5 million consumers as part of Farm Journal Media’s Farmers Feeding the World exhibit at Taste of Chicago, June 24 through July 3.
The exhibit featured a Case IH Steiger® Quadtrac® 600 tractor, the world’s highest horsepower production tractor, along with a large screen TV playing video of how farmers use Case IH tractors and equipment in the field. The purpose of the display was to show consumers how Case IH is helping farmers grow safe and healthy food for an ever-increasing population.
In February, Case IH posted a video blog featuring Dan Basse, president of AgResource Company and headliner of Case IH’s Be Ready Discussion on Global Markets at Ag Connect Expo. During our interview with Basse, he commented that someday in the near future, farmers will be marketing crops and livestock for the world every minute of every day.
In this ever-evolving world of agriculture, every piece of grain and every corn kernel truly counts, and Case IH’s innovative equipment and technology holds the key to maximizing harvest efficiency.
Check out Case IH’s latest “From the Field” video post on The Weather Channel titled, “How can our farms meet growing demand?”. This video post discusses how innovative Case IH equipment can help farmers maximize efficiency from every acre of land, so they can Be Ready to feed the world.
Case IH and several Wisconsin Case IH dealers are partnering with the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Agricultural Research Stations as part of the company’s commitment to help agriculture producers “Be Ready” for the future. The partnership will allow research station staff, researchers and students a chance to use and learn about precision farming technologies and the latest ag equipment advances on the university’s hundreds of acres of research plots. Remember the Case IH blog post back in April that featured the TIME magazine blog article, “Is the world ready for seven billion people?”
The seven billionth person will likely be born in 2011. And, most experts believe that in about 40 years the world population will grow to nine billion people!
Ready or not, here they come, and to our farmers out there, we need your help to feed them.
Check out Case IH’s latest “From the Field” video post on The Weather Channel titled, “How will growers feed the world?” This video post discusses how innovative Case IH equipment can help farmers maximize efficiency from every acre of land, so they can Be Ready to feed the world.
As you’re wrapping up spring planting, we understand your first priority is getting your equipment to the field and getting it done.
Still, we expect that concern lingers in the back of your mind about rising fuel costs as you spend endless hours in the field. “Will our harvest cover these rising input costs? Will prices stay strong?”
With average U.S. diesel costs around $4 per gallon, (reported by the U.S. Energy Information Administration, May 30, 2011, it’s a hard issue to avoid.
While Case IH can’t do anything to lower fuel costs, we can offer you some guidance to optimize fuel efficiency as you operate your tractor. That’s why I asked John Bohnker, Case IH Marketing Manager for Magnum tractors, to provide helpful tips.
Happy Father’s Day to all of the dads out there!
Case IH understands the important role dads play, both within the family and on the farm.
Over the years, we have talked to a lot of dads about running the family farm and working alongside their sons and daughters. We’ve also heard a lot of stories – some good and some not so good – about the challenges of successfully passing the torch from one generation to the next.
Succession planning is an important part of a successful transition from father to son, father to daughter, or maybe to another family member or partner. Whatever your succession plan looks like, getting to that point can be difficult, and the conversations leading up to a plan can be uncomfortable.
