AFS Soil Command is the first seedbed monitoring technology that lets you measure and optimize the agronomic quality of your seedbed — right from the tractor cab.

Out of sight, out of mind is no way to build a seedbed. New seedbed sensing technology from Case IH makes preparing a high-efficiency seedbed top of mind and lets you monitor your progress right from the tractor cab.

AFS Soil Command, available on the Tiger-Mate® 255 field cultivator, helps you measure and optimize the agronomic quality of your seedbed. This new technology uses reliable Advanced Farming Systems (AFS) components to maximize the agronomic benefits of each tillage pass, providing yield-enhancing information — no matter the field conditions or operator experience. The goal: An ideal seedbed with all the elements critical for consistent seed placement.

Find the problem spots; smooth out trouble

In a perfect world, your planter rides on a consistent, level seedbed surface and floor. This leads to a smooth planter ride, even seed placement and uniform emergence. That’s why the seedbed sets your planter’s speed limit. High-efficiency planting requires a high-efficiency seedbed.

In many fields, though, the seedbed surface is even but the seedbed floor is not — and it’s hidden from view. AFS Soil Command gives you real-time insights from below the soil surface and helps you measure the agronomic quality of the seedbed. You’ll immediately know about areas where the seedbed is gouged and rough, whether from misadjusted tillage tools, inexperienced operators or a set-it-and-forget-it mentality we often easily fall into during hectic spring fieldwork.

AFS Soil Command gives you the knowledge and tools you need to optimize field cultivator adjustments and make timely yield-enhancing tweaks that minimize planter row unit bounce. Remember: A planter can’t resolve soil preparation problems. Only AFS Soil Command can do that.

Seedbed sensors mounted on selected shank assemblies throughout the Tiger-Mate 255 field cultivator help AFS Soil Command measure the agronomic quality of your seedbed so you can adjust and optimize each tillage pass in real time.

How AFS Soil Command Works

  • Monitor the agronomic quality of the seedbed. Factory-integrated seedbed sensors are strategically mounted to shank assemblies throughout the machine, providing real-time feedback on seedbed quality. Based on proven Agronomic Design principles, these rugged sensors monitor each time the shank begins to trip or float, alerting the operator to an uneven seedbed.
  • Rugged and reliable precision tools. Factory-installed, AFS Soil Command sensing technology seamlessly integrates into the Tiger-Mate 255 field cultivator. Proven and dependable AFS components match the performance and rugged reputation Case IH tillage tools have earned. The AFS Pro 700 display and user-friendly interface make it easy — regardless of operator skill level — to do agronomically correct tillage on ISOBUS-VT-compliant displays.

AFS Soil Command will be offered on the Tiger-Mate 255 for spring 2019. It’s the ideal way to optimize soil quality, improve yield potential and move another step closer to High-Efficiency Farming.
