For more than 55 years, Alan Funk has been custom harvesting wheat across the U.S. Like most custom harvesters, he has used the same brand of equipment all these years – until last year.
Have you switched to a Case IH combine? What do you think about making the switch?
Funk got two Case IH 8230 Axial-Flow combines and couldn’t be more pleased with the result.
“They perform well in tough conditions, and this year has been a tough year, what with the short, dry crop. But, we’ve had nothing but exceptional performance,” says Funk.
Funk and his son, Darrick, are both thrilled with the combines and will gladly tell anyone who asks, says Funk.
“I like that there’s two doors in the cab,” Funk continues. “I can sit there and wait comfortably with both doors open, and it’s nice to be able to feel fresh air in the cab.”
The cab is one of their favorite features.
“The cab is my favorite part. There is so much attention to detail: quiet, roominess, different adjustments for comfort,” says Funk.
“The cab is wonderful! It’s flawless. The quietest cab I’ve ever been in.”
The AFS system is better than what they had before, says Funk. “It’s easy to use, and operator-friendly.”
Case IH Axial-Flow combines help get the job done for this family business, says Funk.
“It’s easier for me to do a good job with them,” says Funk. “It’s just an efficient machine.”
